Triggered, but strange this time

My best friend i found out has a drinking problem. I knew she overindulged but i didnt know she could be dangerous. She tried to stab me. I can handle myself so i just put her down easy. I was surprised i didnt snap and hurt her or worse. Then her daughter came out and she still had scissors, so i placed myself between her and her daughter until her dad got her. I left. I screamed the whole way home, i never scream. Ive tried just to let out emotion. But i did. And i felt so disgusting and overwhelmed i went and jumped in a freezing river at 4 am. I stayed in it for about 30 mins to an hour. It was something i had to do and my loving boyfriend took me no questions asked. And today i feel better. Usually i feel sick after a trigger. But this was different. I didnt turn into a beaten 5 year old. And i ferl relieved a bit

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

I don't immerse in cold water, but I will drink refrigerated water. Because of my GI issues, I don't usually touch refrigerated beverages, so a slug of something ice cold can "interrupt" that sense of being in the wrong time/place.
Keep on stepping!
