Tired. Will I recover fast enough?
mujicaptsd
I know I can say this here and folks won't freak out, 'cause folks here feel this way often, too, and still come up positive. I'm tired. Nothing's wrong, it's just that these days my one day off is Tuesdays, as I'm working through the weekends.
So it's Monday night, and I'm thinking "how the heck did I do all of this stuff the last 7 days on 40% kidney capacity? How did I talk anybody off the ledge at work with all of my PTSD stuff going on? Where do I get the nerve?"
Today I:
--loaned a colleague I teach with $50 bucks for groceries because she's only part time and enrollment didn't make in 2 of her classes and they were canceled, so no paycheck
--had a student come to my office to cry because her best young friend died of leukemia this past Friday
--had a good friend of mine tell me he fell and had a concussion last week, his wife fell last week and broke 2 bones, and that they also decided that after 27 years of marriage it was time to get a divorce.
--had a coworker call me from home at my work office at lunch time to ask me to tell him if he was slurring his words because he had a stroke last week and I drove him home from the hospital after it, so he thought of asking me
--had a stranger I just met after church yesterday look me up to tell me he just had surgery for a melanoma and he's afraid to die
--had a foreign student come by my office at lunch to tell me she broke her glasses, she can't see beyond 2 feet, she has no car, and she needs to get new glasses
Oh, yeah, and I taught 2 sections of my death and dying class for nursing students in between that stuff. Our textbook talked about miscarriages. After class 2 students came up crying to me and I listened while they told me about their own miscarriage grief. They just needed for me to be there for them for a few minutes between classes. Then when I had listened to them and was walking away, another student came to tell me some news. Her classmate in the class I'd just taught who has kidney disease like me had collapsed just after our class today and had to be taken to the hospital.
After a day's work like this it left me wondering if tomorrow's time off will be enough rest for me to get back on the horse and do it for 7 days again. That 40% of kidney function leaving me only 40% of my energy keeps coming back to me. When I got home from work today I just dove onto my couch and slept hard for 2 hours solid.
Anyway, I guess tomorrow's rest on my day off will be enough. Just sometimes I don't know where the gumption comes from.
Well, take care, my friends. Just venting. We'll do what we need to do, right? How are you doing?

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

You give so much Muji I hope you cherish your own time and make it relaxing and special for you, just you. Resting, enjoying the things you like to do and getting your mind into another place. How about some good soothing music :)
hugs my friend..
Take care
I'm a teacher. On Friday I had to report sexual abuse for one of my students and I've been in my "dark place" ever since. Sometimes when others come to me for guidance and support, it actually helps me feel stronger; a sense of purpose, I suppose. But other times, much like Friday, it leaves me feeling vulnerable and angry at the world again. It is a fickle thing, this thing called life.
Thinking of you and sending you all the hopes of rest. Maybe you could find the time tomorrow for a well deserved massage!
*On a side note, I've experienced renal failure myself and it's a royal bitch (can I say that??). My creatinine got up to 5.8 and I gained 45+ pounds of fluids (which we later found out was also due to the onset of heart failure, but that's another story). Not sure if your 40% of kidney function is due to failure (though it sounds like failure to me), but I wanted to validate your feelings of exhaustion.
I would totally give you my spare kidney, if there's a really good chance it would take.
My innard would be well-used.
Might come with my crazy attached...O.O BWAHAHAHA !
No conclusions here. Just sharing a meditation.
Rest well, my friend.
That's the rest part. The re-creation part requires friends, and the replies here gave me the kind of friendly care and concern I needed. As a bonus, I got up this a.m. to find an email from someone offering me friendship. It's a guy who was in the audience in the church where I was a guest speaker yesterday. Like me, he's a community college teacher. He just wants to get together for coffee and hang out. Guess when? Next Tuesday! And he didn't even know it is my day off!
It's good to say so when you're tired, huh? And get support from known friends and make a new friend, too.
Bless DS PTSD!

I hope you are having a wonderful day today Muji!
Today I got 2 angry emails from him. Sigh.
Oh, heck, since it's an ongoing issue, I'll create another thread......
