Thoughts & Prayers as Thanksgiving week comes
mujicaptsd
I just wanted to say my DS PTSD friends here are in my thoughts and prayers this Sunday night as we head into Thanksgiving week tomorrow.
I am estranged from my family for my safety, so I don't have fear in store, but I do grieve some when spending it alone.
Feeling that grief of mine coming on as Thanksgiving approaches, I realized others here may have memories, too. Others may have stress, any number of circumstances, triggers, any number of feelings for a variety of reasons.
We are not alone. We have each other here.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

my thoughts and blessings will be with all ya'll
I gots me a case of the shivers. Need a warming agent. Not too many peppers, please. I have some home baked crackers to go with it.
This is a tough one for me this year, but.... They've been tough before.
Blessings to all, and peace to us all and on our hearts this holiday season:-)
all are welcome to a bowl and a bite!
I'm always alone on holidays Muji as well... I always treat myself to a new book and usually order something the day before that allows for some yummy leftovers... Treating myself kindly on the holidays makes them a lot better....Bless you....xo
But, I did something John and I used t. I bought a couple extra turkeys and dropped them to families in need.
We were never rich, would never be. But we seen so many with much less and they were 1/2 price when you purchased $20 additional. So I went shopping twice to do this. That's it for my thanksgiving...it helps fill me just fine.
BTW, Gypsy, now I want cheddar-stuffed hot peppers (Anaheims work nicely. Toss a bit of shredded cheddar with fine chopped sun dried tomatoes, stuff the peppers, and roast. OMG. :-)
We will be okay because we have each other.:-)
So I can get caught up in those ugly, hateful family movies replaying day after day on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The pain of being hated so much by loved ones, the shame of going back and letting them do it again, the grief over never having had a decent family experience, ever.
But as you said, it comes down to this: we have each other here, and we'll be ok in 2015. Yes! That I can be thankful for on Thanksgiving!
wish me luck and bravery. we have to go get the rest of the fixins today. one does not make world class chili on frozen rations. then of course you have the side dishes of fried okra and corn bread. you know your a Texan when you refer to corn bread as a side dish lol. -Bridgid
