The space between my ears is the noisiest spot on the planet. Well... It is the most deafening to my personal senses, anyway. The majority of that noise is repetitive refrains. The same thought sets racing circles with roaring intensity, pausing only for brief pit stops for the roaring tools of tire changes and engine tweaks. I can sometimes see the NASCAR fans roaring on the sidelines and the other side of TV screens.
Nothing new. More than one of my face wrinkles and grey hairs are from this very phenom. I have managed to quiet this self-destructive chaos more than once, but... Here I am again. Life's eternal cycles...
At present I am having some success in recognizing and disrupting the thought loops. When I do, an overwhelming anxiety fills the space. Again, my quiet voice says to let this be okay. The feelings of dread will disperse on their own without the thought loops feeding them.
Reality check. Am I making sense?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Oh, I just remembered when I was in my teens and my mind seemed to be ruling me not me it. Couldn't shut up the thoughts. At that time I remember using a clock, very slow, one tick per every 5 seconds or so to slow down my mnd. Later I used a vision of a metranome, very slow again. If I went slow enough my brain slowed down and I could catch the thoughts going by and deal with them. Some were just silly, and I could eliminate them once I looked at them. Others took time, but at least I could see them slowly. Don't know if this helps.
So far I have been using translations, meditations and mantras to disrupt the loops. This time around I find myself using a wordless imagery of massaging the pressure center. Still new at it, but it seems to be working
