I've worked hard teaching from home via computer with zero training this past year, my last year of 40 years of teaching before I retire this summer.  I've had to change software because it turned out to crash in the middle of classes leaving my students frozen on screen, all kinds of stuff happened.

So last week I worked my rear off to get all of my 5 classes of students to get their midterm exams done.  We teachers had to post midterm grades this morning, so I was really proud that I got all of mine posted a day early from home on my school's computer system.

Not so fast.  At the end of my work day today I got an email from my boss saying I hadn't posted my grades at all.  It could have been a software glitch again, so I got scared.  When I checked, I found that my boss--who for 10 years has tended to exaggerate disasters a lot--had exaggerated again.  It was my bad, though, I had to admit.  At the end of my list of 5 classes of students, I had missed posted grades for the last 2.  My boss had told her boss on me, as she always does, that I hadn't posted ANY grades, but I had failed to post 2.

I kept myself under control and calmly sent the evidence of all 5 classes having posted except for the two, and posted them now saying "my bad."  That's something I've never heard my bosses say; they like to say "gotcha" instead.  OK, so they got me.

Hope I fixed it.  52 days until the school year ends and I retire now.
