No, it is not off topic. I have a mean assed, therapy resistant light trigger. The PTSD roots for it are well-documented. Sorting. . .
In dualistic metaphor, Light = Good and Dark = Bad.
In physical fact, light and dark are highly subjective. I have excellant night sight and am frequently amazed at what is commonly called, "Dark." You honestly can't see natural night lights? I'm so sorry. You are missing quite a show!!!
Then we get to artistic contrast. BIG subject!!
What does physical light and physical dark mean to you? No metaphoring around, please.

so light and dark are how I know where and when I am.
literally and in the flashback zone as well.
my vision of my actual physical space, when I begin to flash becomes blurry and/or darkening around the circular view I have.
so light to me is definition of where I am, where things are in both time and place~
Night time thunderstorms and snow and wind are my element of comfort completely. The light is too exposing and judgmental for me while in my depression.
I've shared with other brothers and sisters in healing who use light to orient themselves in the flashback zone. It seemed to work really well for them.
Alas, the blinding lights and corresponding shadows of child pornography stage sets, gang rape beneath farm security lights and a few other etceteras disabled that pearl for me. Ah, those pesky details. . .
