I was just told by my coworker/technical supervisor that she cringes at the tone of my voice while talking to some of our patients and is afraid they'll tell our boss. She says it's not all the time or even every day but it happens. Now the kicker is she did NOT tell me directly no she told the student we have here and since I sit next to her I heard what she said. Between the student constantly calling me evil and mean and rude and now this I just want to curl into the fetal position and scream. Goes to show every time I think I'm doing well I'm not. Really feeling like a failure today. I shouldn't be around people, I really feel evil as the student likes to tell me, guess she's right. Here I thought I've been doing so good getting it under control and nope. Definitely not in a good frame of mind now. The tears are free flowing

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
We all make mistakes and have our imperfections - you are hardly alone in that. There's a way to correct someone that makes them feel inspired to do better, and a way to do it that crushes their spirit and makes them feel ashamed.
But don't feel too bad. Your supervisor is bad at her job - at least, the "supervisor" aspect of it. You will get over this and do better going forward. You're not alone - we all have our "stuff".
I've know people like this. They will pick on one person and try to demonize them.
If your supervisor didn't say this to your face, then chances are that they didn't say it at ALL.
(My mother was like that. She'd tell me that the postman, my teacher, whoever had told her that I was "selfish" or this, or that, or the other thing. It was all BS. Oh I'm sure that some of those people didn't like me, but I'm also sure that some of those people didn't like HER either. I however, am a much better person than my mother was and would never tell her that. And I for SURE would never tell my own kids anything like that!)
Sorry you had to listen to that mean-spirited gossip. Hope healing happens here. Easy does it. Just breath. Be gentle with yourself.
Oh, that's hurtful. I'm so sorry, marie. Glad you told us so we could support you through this.
You are stronger than you realize and look these people for who they are, co-workers who try to make themselves feel better by tearing others down. Shake it off!! Taylor Swift sang it and Paul said it in the Bible, then let it go, hmm there's another song, let it goooo! It's not worth the heartburn to even pay attention to these co-workers.
People are going to talk, you cannot stop that and you can't control their behaviors, what you can control is how you react to their nonsense.
Remember girl, God put that voice in you, He loves you and how you sound. You are important to Him. See yourself as worthy, important, loved and valuable, who cares what these people think!! Look in the mirror and tell yourself how amazing you are, it's not being self-centered to have a good self-image. Believe me I know, I have been there and I had to bounce back after years of bullying and abuse. I said to myself one day, you will no longer hurt me, I have that control.
Hold your head up, walk confidently, be the gal you want to be.
Hugs and blessings to you, and adjust that crown, you got this!!!
