'Tis the season to be stressed out. When I find my anxieties whelming in anticipation of a stressful event, I channel my anxiety into putting together a "Survival Kit" to help me manage whatever contingency might present. My own survival kit is a carry bag containing what-nots to support the therapy exercises which help me work through any psych symptoms may emerge. My own survival kit varies for any given event, but might include:
~Contingency plans for a quick get-away to do therapy exercises and/or abandon ship, if needed.
~Program materials, such as meditation readers or therapy exercises.
~Grounding talismans
~My journal for venting and/or sorting
~Relaxing activities, such as puzzle books or needlepoint to help me manage the parts that are so boring I am tempted to stir up trouble, just for the entertainment.
Anybody else use therapy survival kits? What's in your bag?

It's been some time since my last post...sorry. I've been going through a challenging time with the sale of my home, purchase of a condo and my adult asperger son that lives with me. I've had days where I couldn't get out of bed, days where I stayed in my pj's and days where all I managed to do was eat, drink fluids and take care of my Sweet Mia kitty. If I come to DS and it won't do anything when I click "Login", I go to a post, click and then click "Leave a Reply". Then it will let me log in.Of course, sometimes DS just goes to "Error 504". Then I can't log in.

My Planned Plan
Home, Funny Movies,...whatever I want to do
Saves My Sanity!
If I must go, deep breathing, bathroom visits, stomach problems (real) I have to walk to avoid getting sick, knitting...if my hands are occupied most anything is tolerable...for polite amount of visit time. Offering help in the kitchen...cooking or washing up.
Therapist/medication of course are a mainstay of treatment
Getting a full night of rest and being able to take a nap if necessary
Time with my dog
Alone time where I am not expected to take care of anyone else but myself (this is harder than it sounds)
Excercise or meditation
Reading or crafting/a simple mindless holiday activity with my kids
Baking or cooking
Stones that help keep me grounded
Podcasts,....
My dog
Crochet hooks and yarn
I have been called a brat as I left on more than one occasion lol
I like my little stones & rocks
& I try to watch a funny show or movie
& music
Hugs <3
