Supporting another supports me w PTSD

I don't know about everybody else, but supporting other people makes me feel useful despite my own PTSD problems. So the friend who went to Uruguay with me emailed me a brief line today saying he was emotionally wrung out by some problems that arose after our trip. He asked if we could chat on the phone tonight so he could get some support from me. He lives across country.
So we chatted. Turns out he came back from our trip to find out his wife is having serious spinal problems and had to have a spinal tap. Now she's on steroids that aren't working, so there's a lot of pain, taking meds, and not knowing what's really going on.
Sound familiar? Sounds like what we deal with a lot here with our PTSD.
Anyway, I figure I'm glad he felt he could send that email, and I know he knew that because I draw support from DS PTSD, in turn.
So if you have the wherewithal, say a little prayer or send supportive vibes to my Uruguay traveling buddy and his wife.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Not only does supporting other people make me feel useful despite my own PTSD problems, it also reinforces my personal recovery in ways that resting on my laurels never could. Possibly most important of all, it gives me the awesome feeling of being a part of the World Wide Wellness net. Personally, I believe the world healing net is the most potent magic afloat in today's world. Don't accuse me of knowledge. I only believe it. Not even interested in proving it.
Prayers for you, your friend, and for his wife. Been in that "No Answer Land" and it's very upsetting. Candle of prayer lit and good vibes going out.
Many many people in world don't know about how 'being so sick' is like.
