Both literally and figuratively. Rain is nature's way of making sure gardeners get their housework done. Today's rain pushed me up the truck forged farm road in my squirt mobile to work in the barn. My habitual off-roading in my squirt mobile is safe enough if I simply straddle a single truck groove. Navigating macho grooves is a specialty of mine. I don't take my squirt mobile too far off road, but farm roads are a no brainer for me. It all went well enough and I had a satisfying morning listening to the rain while I worked on clearing the seed bed spaces everyone in the family has dreamed of in those rare moments we have felt like a family rather than items in an oil executive's investment portfolio. I do not consider my labor to be a bad investment in the face of Daddy Gas Bucks's current negotiations to sell the farm. I enjoy the workout and treasure playing with soils, no matter whose portfolio they belong to.
It all went well enough until I gave in to the impatience of hunger and decided to risk the return drive before a break in the rain. The walls of the truck groove caved in and my squirt mobile is almost up to its running boards in mud. Almost. Nowhere near the first time my off-roading has gotten me stuck in the mud. I know better than to keep rocking it after a certain point. Sigh. I left it there and completed my mission of having breakfast. Mission accomplished and I am now letting my meditations turn to the figurative mud I have been spinning my intellectual wheels in...
I started to type out an organized list and decided to just let it brew until I have something new to add. For now, think I'll keep it esoteric...
Thanks for letting me ramble. Might be dry enough to go rescue my squirt mobile. One of my favorite things about my squirt mobile is that it is light enough that one little old lady can push it by herself. I would be having to call in rescue rangers if I was stuck in a macho vehicle...

Glad I was able to spark some good memories, DoooO. Farms are, indeed, great playgrounds. I have tried to make decent pictures of my mud projects and still have not succeeded. The closest I have come is a song that I sing while I play.

Anyhoo, through the photo requests, I decided that my garden beds qualify as artful mud pies. The old-timers here might remember when I was going through the mind-ripping flashback series (Feb/March 2012) that eventually turned out to be leading to when my mother taught me how to make thatch mulch with sweet grass. "Sweet grass" being any grass that smells and tastes sweet. The trigger in this case was an huge supply of winter rye growing in the house I had just moved in to.

Now I am wondering if one of the clan members are behind the web site. I have kept a minimum of 1800 miles between myself and the clan, but it wouldn't surprise me to find out some of them have carried the family business into the digital era. Quite the contrary... Sigh... Think I'll let that mystery be... Studying ignorance...
Did you know it is phonetically correct to pronounce "ignorance" as "IGNORance?" As in, I am ignoring you deliberately.
When I am triggered by someone in my support network - which most certainly does happen - I see it as sorta like having a heart attack in a hospital. If it has to happen, I couldn't ask for a better place for it to happen.
