I was raised in a religious war zone. My childhood was populated by every dogma, anti-dogma philosophy and anti-philosophy known to humankind, all at constant war with one another. More than one member (pro and peer) of my therapy netwwork believes this is a critical factor in my emotional instability and intense isolating habits. They may have a point. My hyper-vigilance is doesn't believe there such a thing as a trustworthy gathering of humans. People can goad one another to violence without a glimmer of awareness.
Setting my social anxiety aside for now, I am currently chewing the notion of Spiritual Maintenance. Is it possible that my spirit needs daily nutrition and hygeine? Does that nutritional need include a sense of community?
Chewing. . . Chew along, if ya wants.

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

I was 45 before my therapy work progressed far enough to challenge the fierce chaos of all those religious debates which were my childhood ???social???spiritual???esoteric??? formation. I went to the baddest of the Christian Bad Boys for that part of my therapy. The Roman Catholics. I went to question. I stayed to confirm. Staying true to the confirmation has not been going well. I still get so lost in the controversy that I don't know a p from a q. I never could tell the clubs apart, dogmatic or radical. Still can't. I'll take your word for it, my contentious individual.
The local churches are on my list of ways to break my current isolation. The Religious Debate puppet show in my head has a cacophony of opinions on the subject. Silence on the set?
what i do to feel nourishment is sing my prayers. the one i had been singing this morning is Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, Oh God, and a renew a right spirit within me
hugs, the post is nice, thanks for this.
i used to get a lot going into the catholic church, (i wasn't Catholic, but the Father let me go in) and listening to the singing. i did not know who was singing, the church was empty as far as i could see and there was no accompanimtn - the organ, nothing, only singing.
it was so beautiful and i was comforted
i don't know anything. i was a visitor, at best and very young.
someone once suggested going late and leaving early...
