for the past week, i have felt this overwhelming need for a good nights rest. almost as though i would wake, and i will have better coping skills. i would be able to stick up for myself against my family, i would see when men are being cheeky and not really looking for a relationship, and i would know if friends are being fake or real or condisending. i would also not want to use drugs anymore, and i would make healthy food and exercise choices.
how do i break from the constant pain that resides in my chest. my whole life has been a painful experience. i know this pain will never go away; but how do i make it less?

Hello- I am new to the group

Jay's podcasts are really good. I watch them on YouTube for free. Today, I watched his video about motivation. In fact, I've been watching a few videos on this subject. Jay gave us an assignment to complete the following sentence: I am stuck because? I don't describe myself as stuck, but to finish the sentence, I would say that I am stuck because I am tired. When I have energy, I do...
Anyway, I just wanted to offer support even though I don't have a solution.
I just started therapy to learn how to do that myself. Have you given any thought to talking with a counselor or therapist?
Back here in the real world, I tackle those pains in small, manageable steps. I'll second the notion that you may have made a good beginning by posting here. Sit with this step a while and see where it takes you. Sort freely. Sort often.
I feel like my family is sick of hearing me talk and sort through my triggers. almost like "alright already, move on." they would never say it to me, but it's just a feeling I have had lately.
