oh my! I'm sorry that happened to you. My memory loss isn't that terrible. Might I suggest talking to someone about that!!

I am so sorry that you've been injured. In any case my memory is shot and I too leave things on the stove and forget and I keep telling myself one day something bad is going to happen! But now that I seen your experience I am going to have to get some help with this. It is becoming worse for me. I hope you are doing okay:)

My memory is shot as well. I forget everything! It scares me.

My long term memory is really good but my short term on is scary, i forget what i'm doing as of right now, is like i'm here but my mind is not.........Sorry you got burn, be careful.I have to re-check everything twice before i leave the apt.....

Ouch! on a side point, you can get this cream called duoderm from the pharmacist, it is non-presciption, and wow does it work well with burns. You use it and you will not scar- in my experience with a motorcyle pipe.

For me I have no long term memory -

yeah my wife has taken over cooking.

My husband brought me an electric kettle. He has come home to many times in the afternoon & found the stove is still on from when I made my morning tea. And he checks behind me after I've cooked.

OMG! I also suffer w/memory loss. I didn't know this was connected w/PTSD (which I do have).

that sounds painful.
I've done things like left my front or back door wide open. I can easily imagine myself forgetting that i was cooking.

i have short trem memory loss i forget things all the time ,its part of pstd i guess i forgot water was running in sink flooded my kicthen ,sorry you where hurt hope you healing .hugs minnie

Most people seem to be focusing on your injury which was awful, but it is the short term memory loss that is bothering you. Don't worry - it going to get worse - ha ha - my humor -- but the fact is as long as you are having trouble working through your original trauma the memory loss will always be present - go to the core and find the answer then you can start to live life to the fullest.

I am saying this with my extreme short term memory loss - like forgetting where I parked my car (thank God for beepers) and walking into the kitchen and forgetting what I wanted -- have to return to the last room I was in to get a visual reminder. -- I have lost my councilor - therefore I can't work on my issues - except for coming here to DS -- and my PTSD started before the age of 5 - so I have a lot to remember and heal from.

I'm with midnight. I forget what I walked into a room for a lot!! It really bothers me sometimes but what can you do? I leave stuff on the stove leave doors open. Once I started my car to warm it up and left it run for over an hour. I was very relieved to learn that it is a PTSD symptom. Thought I was loosing it.......
