Hi
I am am shaking so badly. I do not know what to do. A few minutes ago one of the person I was emailing (looking a new therapist) emailed me and than called me. She wants to see me on Friday
BUT, my current therapist who is out of town do not know and it is making me shake. I never had left a practice and they aren't aware verbally or in writing that I was looking a new therapist or moving on
My case manager said after my session with the new therapist email/text my current therapist and thank her. BUT BUT BUT
Is not that dishonest? Isn't that cold? Isn't rude? and the list goes on and on. I feel like I just did something really bad and I am shaking really badly. I do not know if I can go through this. I do not know. Please help/advice

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments. My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

The therapists who helped me most encouraged me to shop around far beyond my interest in shopping. They valued second opinions.
It sounds like you're thinking that things will go really well with the new therapist, and I hope they do. But, what if they don't? If your first meeting with the new provider goes badly, or even just not wonderfully, will you still want to keep the old therapist 'til you find THE new one that you want to keep? Maybe it's not time to leave your current therapist yet? If your situation with your current therapist is completely unworkable then I understand telling them and just not going back, but if they're o.k. but not stellar and you're looking for someone more experienced or who just 'clicks' with you more, then why not keep the old til you find a 'for sure' new.
Anyway, while it is polite for someone to know how you feel about their services, unless you have an actual contract saying you'll give a certain amount of notice before leaving then you don't have to.
Also, I'm under the impression that most therapists do that kind of work because they want to help, so egos aside, they should be glad if you find someone who can help you better....
Best wishes
I work detachment exercises to help me soothe those savage beasts, and savage they are. I can guilt trip myself over doing a good deed. Did I "enable" them instead of helping? Where's my Truth Guide?
The therapists who value second opinions gave me allot of the detachment tools I still use to soothe those savage beasts.
It is not the matter of okay it is that it is very uncomfortable. Touch love like one person told me is what is best for me BUT for me patient seems better. And I am confused by people and so I do my best.
I am waiting for new therapist to email me paperwork. I have not figure things and I keep saying I wish to be understood.
I am going through something similar, I need two teeth extracted, a bone graft, sinus reconstruction and implants to replace the teeth extracted. My dentist referred me to a periodontist he trusts. The doctor took a cat scan and went through the process with me. He is really a great dentist but the service costs are $10,000 which is not really covered by my insurance. I would get maybe $1,000 back from my insurance, so I am shopping around for a doctor that is in my dental network vs my dentist’s recommendation because my cost would be more like $1,600 out of pocket vs $9,000.
This is better for me financially. If my dentist or the doctor I had the consultation with are upset, its too bad. I have to do what’s best for me and also meets my health needs. Unless the doctor I consulted with wants to become an in network doctor and cut his price by more than 50% which is doubtful, I have to go with someone else.
Don’t feel bad Rose for making a decision that meets your needs. Your needs come first., and if others don’t understand then shame on them.
My case manager said wait until I meet her before text and emailing my current therapist.
Its just feel like things are long meaning still waiting to see things a bit much better. But I am thankful because it could have been worst.
She should be glad that you find someone that you work well with sweetie.... she's a professional
Another hug of peace and calm.... I hope that your appt with your new therapist goes well.... xo
I hope your work with your new therapist goes well for you and my work with my future one goes well for me, too.
Muji I still waiting on paperwork from new therapist
