i gotta give jeremiah to hoyt axton, the fella who wrote the song, though i didn't know about hoyt until much later. the 3 dog night version was the one i danced to.

Hoyt Axton wrote that, arfie? Wow! I never knew that. I did know that Three Dog Night sang songs by other folks and weren't songwriters themselves, but I didn't know Axton wrote their big hit. Ya nevah know. It's like when I found out Kris Kristofferson co-wrote "Me and Bobby McGee."

he also wrote "never been to spain" and a ton of other songs you might already know by heart. i grieved more for his passing than john lenon's, though ya gotta salute the life well lived. hoyt axton was discrete enough that he could go places john lenon would been mobbed for simply showing up.

arfie, knowing Hoyt Axton wrote it makes sense to me now, that line "well, I've never been to Spain/but I've been to OKLAHOMA.." Ha!

    Does anyone here have a comfort item you carry with you when you go out? For example this is my doll, Annie, and I've recently been bringing her with me when I run errrands flor have an appointment. Holding her comforts me. I've bought her clothes, crocheted for her, I recently bought a personalized blanket with her name on it.  Just wondering if anyone else has a comfort item.
