Romantic Issues

It is nesting season in Central Texas. There seems to be more pairs than flocks of birds at the feeder. The pairs are engaging in some genuinely amusing antics which seem to go far beyond the search for food. Every so often a member of a pair forgets her/himself and begins chattering at me excitedly. I imagine they are chattering about "The Battle of The Sexes." What does this impossible creature want.

"Ah," I grin at my confused, young friends, "reproduction is hard on us all."

Maybe just personal delusion, but, for sure, the bird song is magnificent during nesting season...

Looking forward to that update, Jen. The Mass Wildlife site says your black bears gestate for around 7 months. I hope I'm remembering right that that is your hood. Hope you are graced with fuzzy black balls...

In this case, I think I am just a handy set of ears. Nothing will get you running at the mouth like mating rituals, whatever your species.

Or, as John Prine put it:

Ever hear his song, "Jesus, the Missing Years"? I heard him sing it live in concert once. Couldn't believe he dared to be funny about a topic some could take offense to, but it was funny after all, and then as always with Prine, food for thought, too.

    I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying.  I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there.  I think that I will start writing in it again.  It's so therapeutic.

    First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
