"Let The Dream motivate. Let reality dictate." ~Strictly Personal
That became a personal mantra somewhere over the course of the psychotherapy centered on my personal flight pattern: Am I running away from or going to?
The dream remains, but reality is not looking too supportive this morning. Yesterday was a domestic drama of middle-aged rapid-cycling. Eldest son (36) was throwing tantrums like an over-sized 2 year old and hubs was a corporate oracle of remote-control fixes. If I leave today, I will most certainly be running from. Eldest son's S.O. might or might not be invited. For all I know, the S.O. might already be en route for the Toxic People Dump. The toxic people fad seems to be the preferred app-store these days. . .
I didn't let myself start my car yesterday. I might not have been able to find the brake pedal, or even the reverse gear for coming back.
I do see signs of progress in the dialogue, but. . . Do I really have to play? I'd rather be a Bee Barge Captain. . .
Still sorting. . . Still just dreaming. . .

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Either way I hope it sorts out for you...you deserve a nice road trip!!
Not sure Hollywood has created the female travel adventure which inspires me yet, but. . . I get your drift, Musk. Thank you.
Absolutely, I think these melodramas need to come out before the trip. I am pretty convinced they are the mechanism by which my field research keeps getting reduced to Housewife on the run. Hubs and I are actively working on that dynamic between us. He is now admitting that my wandering ways were sexier when I was an exotic neighbor than they were after we got married.
Eldest son and his S.O? This is me, running for the safety of my own business. . . There are things a mother should never know about a 36 year old son. At least, not this mother.
So far, Jodi Foster in, "Contact" is in the lead. Of course, she traveled alone in that one.
There are not a lot of movies that empower women or show the women having fun. I like Jodi Foster and she seems to take strong women roles. I didn't see the movie contact but heard it was good, perhaps I will watch it on my apple TV
When I think of road trips and women I think of Thelma and Louise , didn't like the ending though.
Another inspirational movie be, "A League of Their Own." The real women the movie is based on did it in the 1940's and they traveled extensively, together.
