Been trying to remember/translate a lecture I heard in Spanish but still haven't found continuity with in English. Metaphors and word plays can make the translation process tricky...
The general topic was providing support for people in crisis. The speaker was attempting to distinguish the difference between letting the person navigate the crisis at their own speed, in their own way and taking over their lives in the manner you see fit. To illustrate his point, he performed an etymology on the word, "responsabilidad" as a compound word. I won't attempt to quote the etymology, but I remember it as more or less turning the word, "Responsibility" into "the ability to respond."
The dialogue after the lecture was one of the richest gab sessions of my life. It continued for the remainder of my stay in Ecuador. In Spanish, of course. Kinda wish I could bring the dialogue into English.
Any takers?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
I was on a Skype with 51% this week and talked about one that works both in Spanish and in English. Dismembered minds and hearts, and re-membering. The work of memory and trauma that restores us to being whole, to putting ourselves back together by putting the missing pieces into our puzzles.
Remembering, becoming members of the human community again. Beginning by becoming members of this community, and remembering what we can together.

You say "Without hidden knowledge from the self." Now there's something interesting. I teach Philosophy & Spanish both at my little community college, and like to tell my Philosophy students about Socrates and the goal of all knowledge being to "know thyself."
It can take a lifetime and still be worth it.
"Without hidden knowledge from the self." Thanks for that one.
