I've been talking with someone for the last two months and a half. He is a really nice, he knows what happened to me when I was a child, I ended the realtionship yesterday, I've been feeling so stressed and many memories have been bothering me, I ended things with him because I know I'm damaged and he is important to me and I was trying to protect him, I was an ass to him, I try to push him away and I wanted him to cut any contact with me, he told me that asking him to not keewitn contact with me was hurtful. It was really painful for me to tell him that.
I think I'm ready to have therapy. I will find a therapist and I'll do my best to be open about my scars.
Can someone tell me what I supossed to do or say in the first session, I am really scared.

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Nope, I can't tell you what you should say during the first session. I am quite convinced that scripting the sessions is counter-productive. Healing takes whatever it takes. Trust the process.
Gentle support while you brave the great unknown. Share freely, share often. We'll be here for you.
Your trauma may or may not be specifically sexual assault, but you can use the RAIN folks as a place to start to get your referral. You just click on this link and put in your zip code to start your search in your area.

I will admit that I took revenge on my first good boyfriend. I took revenge on him for the abusive men that came before him. But he wasn't a perfect angel either. We eventually broke up. Now for the past 25 years I've been married to a lovely, kind, gentle, generous, stable man. I sometimes wonder what's in it for him, given how ... complicated ... I am. But I love him fiercely, and I have certainly made his life far more interesting than it would have been otherwise. For whatever reason, he loves me, and even though I have thought at times that I'd be doing him a favor if I disappeared from his life, I don't think he would have see it that way at all.
