Putting one foot in front of another

Neuropathy pain from the kidney disease side of things really hurt at work today. I was in the faculty lounge in lots of pain and said I'm proud I haven't missed school for a sick day in 15 months, a proud achievement. One of the less sensitive of my co workers piped up and said, "well, I've never taken a sick day!"
I was too tired and in pain to say so, but that's a comparison of apples and oranges for those of us who have PTSD and some illness kicks in. People out there offline might not get it, but I know people here do know what a big deal it is to keep putting one foot in front of another.
Putting one foot in front of another could mean just waking up and not sleeping all day. In the past, some days, that was a big step forward for me. On others days it went farther, to getting out of bed. On another day, all of that and getting dressed, too. Then getting a shower and getting dressed. Then getting dressed and getting out of the house. Eventually, applying for a job. Finally, getting another job and showing up to work it again, a huge step forward for me in 2011.
Here's 3 cheers for everybody who, in one way or another, put one foot in front of another yet again today.

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

It's a bit rah-rah cheery for me on my bad days but I have sung this to myself sooooo many times over my lifetime! (Yes, I'm a goofball. I also can sing all the lyrics of everything in the Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer Christmas special.)
:-)
ONE STEP is how it's done:-)
Sorry about the pain Muji and you are so right. One foot in front of the other.
As for me, 3 more days until Tuesday, when I get a change at school toward something more positive every day.
Until Tuesday. One foot in front of the other.
Big 'ole Texas size hugs for your comments and inspiring me with your own courageous action. Reminds me of that man on the moon saying, "One small step, one giant leap for mankind" ....or something like that. I will keep that thought in my mind while trying to get back to work and how you did it.
Thanks for all of the support. Something's not quite right. I have a routine doctor's checkup next week. I hope they figure out what's going on with my physically here. it's wearing on my body and my mind both.
