PTSD Insomnia-only 2 hours of sleep
I've been on a really positive roll lately as to taking melatonin nightly for insomnia and Prazosin nightly for nightmares from growing up in 6 years of combat in a civil war on the mission field as a kid overseas.
But last night, for some reason, that blessed combination failed to work. I was up, I was down, I was up again, I was trying to sleep in my bed, trying to sleep on the couch, you name it. But as happens from time to time with my PTSD, I could NOT get to sleep. I didn't get more than 2 hours of sleep, total. I'm 64 and worn out from a lifetime of this, so one night like last night and I spiral down fast.
I'm a classic case of what the National Institutes of Health talk about when they study PTSD insomnia.

I have to speak via Zoom from Mexico here where I've retired to a congregation in Maryland come this Sunday, so to have my wits about me so I can deliver a speech I really need to get over this by the week's end. Support and prayers welcome.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Aqui contigo, I will be thinking of you & will light a candle.
I hope you get a turnaround & some rest leading into some sleep, I really hope. Wow you know I’ve been going though similar as you with sleep plus the jaw stuff that we were talking about in my journal, it all can be a lot.
Sending support, strength & many prayers
Big hugs <3
You have always been so supportive of me when i have been going through bouts of insomnia (Lately i feel lucky if i get 4.5 hours) so you can count on my support and prayers for some deep, dreamless, restorative SLEEP.
I hope that you have a better sleep tonight... xo
Today I hope the fainting and dizziness symptoms go away so I can get out and walk on my cane with my dog. It's so good for my PTSD to keep up my ability to walk in spite of CKD and not be in that wheel chair I had to go back to twice last year.
Thanks for your support. I really take it to heart.
Today, though, I got it done: 1.5 kilometers, to be exact. Thank goodness.

Anxiety seems to make my ptsd worse. Take extra good care of yourself.
Hey, I beat you with 4 hours of sleep last night ;)
We should just call each other and have a good laugh while we're awake all night ;)
I'll have to read that posting you put up. I had no idea insomnia and ptsd were linked. silly me.
I pray for calm in the midst of the storm, the soothing waves of the gulf to comfort you, get you to sleep before Sunday and the hugs from all of us. Hugs, JP
