I was diagnosed with PTSD last week, shaming from a fatal car accident last Oct. I thank the people who helped me in my time of need back then. I'm recently in therapy it is doing me good. I have not been able to go back to the scene at night. I know if I did I would not be able to leave till day light for fear of someone being there I don't see. Has anyone else been been in a fatal accident been back to the scene? I lay flowers during the day but I cant go there at night. Just wanted to know if you did how long did it take.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I've never been involved in a fatal car accident but I lost a friend in HS to one. I am glad you are in therapy.
For me it was a car bombing when I was a civilian with my family in missionary service in a war zone overseas. My therapist worked toward my going back there as "exposure therapy," and it worked.
It took me a year working with him before I went back, though. However, when I did, hard as it was, it worked. I went with a friend who took my photo on that street corner, and it was a good turning point in my PTSD recovery.
I haven't been in an accident but wanted to give you a big hug of comfort and support.....xo
I've recently been involved with a very "graphic" death. Also, as a former paramedic, I've seen it all, and I've been with loved ones who survived. The sudden violence is literally a force that slames into your life and shakes up the whole system in my experience. Mind, body, Soul, Spirit. The mind takes far longer to heal from blunt trauma, than the body does. I'm constantly having to re- calm my mind, I find that Nature is great for healing. I would say just feel your way into and through it, At your OWN pace. Trust your insights. But it's probably going to be much more like a siege than a battle.
