PSTD guided imagery/affirmation CD
seekinghealthy101
Hello to all.
I just want to second Rosie's comment earlier about being honored to be among such brave honest caring people who are posting here. I think your decision to participate and care is probably making an impact of saving lives when people find you....so thank you.
I wanted to ask, have any of you used guided imagery/affirmation CDs specifically for PSTD? My counselor loaned me hers, and then I purchased it, because I found it to be very soothing for me to listen to.
It is by Bellaruth Naperstek and can be found on HealthJourneys.com
Her voice is soothing. At first, I only liked the affirmations, I didn't like the guided imagery, because it talks about going into our hearts, like a cave where there are lots of hurt, broken images. Of course I don't like the feeling of uncomfortable. But, I sometimes just played it and let my mind drift while the words are in the background of my mind.
Now, I have been using this on and off for the last 8 months, and I feel like I am more comfortable with even the guided imagery part which gently explores the hurts still inside me, and the affirmations help cancel out the negative self-chatter and are helping me replace some of this with better thinking at times.
I just wanted to share this, and wondered if anyone used and found it helpful, or share if anyone is interested in looking into it as an adjunct to self-help.

I love Belleruth Naperstek! I have the CD downloaded on my computer but a burned disk won't play in my CD player in the bedroom - so I never have listened to it.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
