Trigger warning~
I believe I made a post recently. So this is my second post. I'll share my story.
My ex was caught and arrested 1 month after the incident. He beat me badly, wouldn't let me leave the house, took my phone away and sexual assaulted me. This happened in October last year.
He refused to take the plea, which was 15 years in prison.
Then his trial, a jury found him guilty of all counts. There was a lot of evidence against him.
After that, he was sentenced to almost 30 years in prison and has to register as a sex offender every 3 months for the rest of his life. He's only 31.
He was supposed to be transported to prison from county jail, instead he committed suicide in county jail. He didn't know he was being transported that day. This was yesterday.
I'm like, WTF....

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I hope you understand that him taking his life, was a result of his choices, and not your fault at all.
I'm so glad you are now forever safe from him.
I'm sorry for the loss you might feel, but I'm so glad you are safe.
My ex tried using suicide as a means to control me, as did my father. And I know the terrible feeling of loss you can have when a suicide does happen-it really is not your fault.
I live with CPTSD, and the intense fear I have at times about the possibility of my abusers finding me, coming after me is a terrible weight.
It was a victory, putting him in jail. It was the right thing to do. He was a threat to you and to others. The sentence was a victory.
It wasn't your fault, what he did. It wasn't the jails fault, even though there should be more measures to try to prevent these things from happening, he made a choice.
I'm very very sorry. Hugs to you.
It's a lot, rosykitten. A lot more than most people might realize. There are layers to how deep it is.
I know because my perpetrator, a pedophile, preyed on me along with 4 other elementary school classmates of mine. He got caught, tried, convicted, and sent to prison. There he died, though not by his own hand. It was a fellow prison inmate who hated child molesters who stabbed him to death.
He wasn't my spouse, but what my story has in common with yours is the mixed emotions we're left with when the justice system works and then things turn out to lead to death there. Much support to you.
One of the reasons that a person will commit an act of suicide is 'I'll show you".... This is a common reason actually
My heart hurts for you and for his family.... Another hug and a blessing.....xo
