Another memory block is coming down. Perhaps it already has finished its mind-ripping process. It is somewhere between difficult and impossible to know. There is no one in my life who can confirm or deny what is behind my memory blocks. Allowing the process to run its course requires greater faith than any sermon or anti-sermon ever preached.
In this - mystery - my eyes are just below the table top. Standing on my toes, I can see a single plate of food. Eggs and bread? A man's voice is growling at me, "May I help you?"
In the painful twists of this process, the tones seem tied to the tones often used in the contemporary phrase, "You need help!"
Opines, please. Am I simply in need of incarceration?

The philosopher in me wonders if there has been a cultural paradigm shift. It has become rare to hear, "May I help you?" unless the asker is on paid duty. It is common to hear, "You need help!" with the connotation that the speaker is currently off duty and too busy with their happiness to care.
