Pain today-hope no flashbacks

I woke up with bad chronic kidney disease (CKD) pain today. Feels like having been severely kidney punched many times in a boxing match. Food didn't help. Thought giving a friend a ride to the train station would help, getting out and doing adn thinking about somebody else. Now I'm back home at 2pm and the pain inside continues.
Can't take any meds for CKD because of, well, CKD. Nice Catch 22. Hoping pain doesn't trigger flashbacks and panic attacks. Too weak for them, really.
Supportive vibes welcome.
May not be back on until tomorrow. Hope everybody's ok.
Going to lie down.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Whatever your 'distracting' go-to's have been -- music, reading, writing .... I hope you can lean on them, and I hope they work for you.
Sometimes, quality distractions are as effective as analgesics.
I'm sorry.
I've been hurting pretty badly lately, too, and -- like you -- don't have any "big bat" ways to manage it.
One question- would a heating pad or cold press help? Have a friend with one bad kidney- congenital- and he has used a heating pad at times for some relief. He is also very careful about his diet (which I am sure you are too).
Positive, healing vibes coming your way.

I don't mean to whine, it's just not the way it used to be in the old days of health and vigor and vim, and I knew you could listen without thinking it was just whining.
It's chilling, really, to realize the limits of the physical body and have to observe them, finding a positive attitude alone doesn't do the job.
Anyway, my fear of flashbacks materialized today. I had the kind that make me gag and the kind that literally scare me to the bathroom because they scare the p*** out of me. But their symptoms were treatable--I was able to stop the gagging with cough syrup and to make it to the bathroom when those chills went down my spine. All in all, it passed.
That's what happens when I'm weakened over all, though. The PTSD flashbacks poke through. Glad I can talk about it here!
Gentle hugs, mister...Safe vibes...
