I lasted until 12:15 last night, just so I could say I'm not too old and couldn't make it to the new year. I went to bed feeling hopeful for the new year, a year to focus on the positive relationships I'm blessed with and let go with grace the ones who didn't make it into the new year. Feeling mighty proud of myself for the lack of resentment, because revenge isn't below me in the past but I've noticed that isn't mattering as much thankfully. So I woke up to a nightmare at 2:30am and jumped out of bed only to find my parrot wasn't put to bed properly and had somehow got a fly trap wrapped around her wing, poor thing. She's bonded with my son so he's the only one who can handle her so I had to wake him up. We get her cleaned up but then my son steps on the missing tack from the trap. Get him cleaned up and back to bed and I'm just reeling with anxiety. Woke up ok this morning but if last night was any indication to how this year is going to go I'm going back to bed until 2019 lol. Thought it was a funny story of bad luck. Happy New Years everyone, 365 more days to work on yourself and get closer to that zen, or whatever happiness you're trying to achieve. I'm thankful for you all and wish you all the best.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Keep on accentuating the positive, Jen. What you feed is what grows.
How sad it would be to find your son's pet maybe to tangled. As it was you and him worked to save one of Gods creatures. Though the tack was not fun, I have stepped in my share if nails , so best wishes of healing for him.
Treat yourself and those around you in your care with the best you can. It's all we can ever do.
J.
I would take it as a sign of strength~
Maybe not such a bad start?
I think it is safe for me to tell you....."Tomorrow WILL BE a better day. " :)
Happy 2018.
Hugs
It was really funny to me because in South America I used to have an Australian parakeet, a budgerigar. It's almost two weeks since into the New Year now, so I hope your parrot's new year is as happy now as it was funny then at the start.
