Thanks Gypsy. That was exactly the phrase I was looking for. Hope you don't mind my putting the return hug here. "High Five!"
In the miles and trials of my healing journey, I have joined the choir that believes many of my personal dysfunctions are poorly used strengths.
This week I have been dealing with hyper-vigilance and obsessive thought loops. Acute observation and fast reactions are both strengths. Being set off for weeks by a piece of litter in a strong wind... Not so much.
My ability to puzzle through complex equations like a dog with a bone has earned me sweet paychecks. Chewing on a family member's personal problems... Not so much.
Reality check, please. Am I making sense?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
My daughter is the most head strong person I know. She can do anything if she puts her mind to it. Sadly she uses it for negative crap and self destruction.
I am indecisive...drives me nuts most days but the indecisiveness is in part because I am willing to see the "other" side of things. I struggle to trust yet there are many who haven't earned trust.
yes the obssesiveness when we get stuck in loops over things that seem out of our circle of control do more damage than healing oftimes. however they can be toned down and when calmly stepped through there is possible ways they can benifit us and our circle of support.
being detail oriented at hyper mode we overlook things miss key details even miss-inturpret. easy to do when loved ones and emotional ties are involved or triggers get set off. hence the wisdom in finding safe ways to conduct a defragging.
when we get this way we try when possible to to find things to pull our attention away with literal mind numbing thoughtless activities. we do this with movies or music a lot because oddly enough out of no where there will pop up something in these mediums that connects the dots to something we didn't notice before.
so glad we could help arfie :)
Thanks again. Not fully over the hump yet, but, small bytes and long chews.
