I woke gently today. I enjoyed luxurious stretches during a long, mellow soak before I crawled out of bed to stumble to the coffee pot.
Unfortunately, it didn't take the entire first cup before I was back to obsessing over the in-laws and the questionable relationship between the mother-in-law's caregiver and the father-in-law. Questions about their relationship and the impact it is having on my husband and sons continue oozing through my head like mercury in a Petri dish. Without my husband and sons, my in-laws would be nothing more than two more drips in the grey tsunami. The in-laws and i would not choose to associate on our own, but that husband, two sons are a pretty solid bond. None of them are quite comfortable with grandpa's new sweetheart. Among other things, they are beginning to wonder if grandmother has a part in the new relationship. Does grandmother still have a caregiver? I don't want to be drawn into the drama, but...
The problems remain real enough but the obsessive thinking does nothing more than make me as crazy as the situation. The headaches from it are mounting.
Just sharing it as a calming exercise.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Thank you for the reminder. Time to try again.
Have to admit I do not really feel a personal bond with the in-laws, but my husband and two sons are a substantial bond and it is tearing them apart. Hurt them and you are hurting me.
Nonetheless, the obsessive thoughts seeped in. At least you care, as was noted. But I do hope sharing was the calming exercise needed. No need to wear yourself down after a good morning's start.
Yes, the sharing is the calming exercise I hoped for. Been working multiple nodes on my support net simultaneously. Small steps and big faith. It will work itself out in time.
Trying not to wish I cared less. I am powerless over the situation and sitting on my hands is nothing easy for me. Still, the serenity to accept what I cannot change is better than growing vengeful callouses on my heart. Already tried the callouses. Lonely way to live.
