Now that Social Security Pays Retirees to Mexico
Today I had to get to the mall here in my city in Mexico so I could get cash from the atm machine so as to pay some bills next week. My Social Security checks for Feb. and Mar. were withheld by the government as were all such checks for all of us US citizens who've retired here in Mexico.
All of us living here in Mexico were required to submit an extra form that those retired Stateside don't have to submit. And the tricky part was that we weren't told this new form even existed. A couple of us found out somehow and put Youtube warnings up online and THAT is how we told each other and got this extra form to the US Embassy in Mexico City so our government would stop holding up our monthly retirement checks that we depend on.
So I had to to a lot of it today to catch up on bills that had to wait until the US government got its extra form for US citizens retired to Mexico and released our checks. I usually only walk 1km per day or so, but today I walked 3km at the Mall and running errands. It was painful walking, but it had to be done.
