I don't need scary carnival rides or to go sky diving. i have plenty of adrenaline. Really it is far TOO plentiful. I can feel like i am in fight or flight for days on end.
I don't know how to break free of it. Coping skills aren't really working right now.
i can't eat when i feel like this and that's not good for somebody in recovery from an eating disorder.
All i want right now is to feel better!

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

in my own case, by the time i have escalated to where i can't eat any more, i believe i need to detox in order to purge that adrenaline from my system. vigorous physical workouts and lots of water are my most reliable quick fix.
but that is me. . .

As of this moment i am feeling quite a bit better, much better than yesterday thanks be to God.
I am always waiting for the other anxious shoe to drop though...self fulfilling prophecy?
We'll see i guess.
So sorry you all understand so well...
i'm equally sorry you understand but grateful we have each other to lean on.
I say the same when I ever feel better, thank you God!
And I hear you. I have the waiting for the other shoe to drop syndrome. It’s not fun to have.
Marian, thank you for caring.
I am so sorry that you too can relate to this, it is just dreadful isn't it?
now that you mention it. . . chew, chew. . .
could that be akin to how i consciously channel my hypervigilance into "perimeter checks?" that would be where i treat my anxiety like an over-sensitive security system and channel the hypervigilance into checking my immediate surroundings for clear and present danger. if i find none, reset the alarm and return to whatever i was doing before the alarm went off.
turns out that the routine perimeter checks were even more tedious than rocking in my worry chair. the channeling was remarkably effective in my own case.
would that qualify as being hypervigilant about hypervigilance?
Or, IF there is a tiger around the corner i am PREPARED to be afraid.??
