Nightmare triggered by GOOd stuff?

I had a horrible night of nightmares last night for the first time in a year. It happens, but I bring it here because of what triggered it. I teach at a community college, and a state university an hour away approached me to take a job there with them. A huge compliment.
I'm happy where I am, so I'm not going to take the other job. I know how many of us are unemployed here, so I don't say that lightly. It's just that I've only been teaching at my community college for 2 years now, before which I was unemployed myself. I'm just getting it back together, and staying put is the right choice. I'm at peace about it. Due to my PTSD anxiety, in the past I've moved around a lot, and I'm happy not to feel the need to do that any more.
So I make a good decision I feel right about, then I go to sleep and have brutal nightmares about it? My fight or flight PTSD anxiety gets triggered? Not fair. Most people get to take a compliment and move on. Not so fast, says the PTSD, apparently. An anxiety disorder is a nimble little thing, isn't it? It can create anxiety out of success, too, not just failure.
Anybody else have nightmares triggered by GOOD stuff?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
I can't say I have ever had anything but what I consider the normal anxiety dreams that were brought on by starting a new job or going back to school. Both positive events but had nightmares the night before. Like I said I think they were just the run of the mill anxiety dreams.
I'm afraid I can't add much to the discussion but I do wish you a peaceful sleep.
I have gotten triggered by good things, in a variety of ways. Sometimes nightmares, sometimes panic, urges, whatever way my particular affliction decides to lash back.
Sometimes I see it as the illness feeling afraid its losing. Nowadays Im not so sure if thats totally accurate, but its all I got right now.
I hope your nightmares go down!
Are you back from Uruguay?
The nightmares are just processing the ugly truths. Let the healing proceed.
No, x, I'm still in Uruguay, emailing from a cow town deep in the interior this time. I'll be here 2 more weeks.
