Feeling down tonight. I give up. If you are an asshole you get ahead in life. If you are a corrupt organization, you get ahead in life. Mental health is big business and it is all about dollars and data, people at the bottom of priority list. After all we don't want to solve the mental health issues, it would cost money to do that.
Being honest and doing the right thing only means you get punished and beaten up and lose. There is no room for honesty, compassion and empathy in this world. Those of us with mental health issues are just dollar signs in the eyes of those "helping" us.
Life sucks! People suck! Mental health care sucks! No one gives a darn about people with mental health challenges.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I'm sorry you're going through a hard time right now. I know I've been there before.
Healing hopes for all. No exceptions.
Continued support while you sort, CC.
I understand your upset and it is sadening and shocking but u need to move on to find the next place u can volunteer. I know u have ALOT of passion for this. There must be other mental health places to volunteer? But unfortantly u may see the same sort of thing. Its horrible but its like that all over the world.
You cant keep kicking yourself down like this, ul end up very very ill. You need to look what the next oppourtunty is. Its not in your power to change how it runs so u need to try accept it im afraid even if it is totally shitty.
I hope ur able to find a new oppourtunity soon and still have that passion for the new thing.
Hugs.
The general public just does not care. No onextra cares about the people calling in. Nothe even the group that says they do. They especially don'the care. They are in it for the money and status. Empire building...big raises etc.
I am sad the.people who are supposed to be advocating and helping those with mental health are no doing it. I am sick they get paid to sleep etc mean time the phone rings.
I fell bad for people who are being let down by yet another empty promise that thus will make mental health care better.
I have been giving this a lot of thought and I think the way to fix the crisis in mental health is to start teaching CBT/DBT skills in schools, at a very young age and build those coping skills as the student grows. This would give them a good toolbox to draw from. It would be a natural thing since it had been taught to them from a young age. This in turn would reduce the mental health crisis eventually.
For the crisis right now, I believe that micro enterprises are a good solution for a lot of people. People with mental illness have had their confidence, self-worth and self-esteem stomped on and torn up into little pieces. By providing work for individuals with mental health issues we can start to rebuild or build these back up. It gives a sense of purpose and a reason to get up and live. We must also show them how to relax, how to live life. People need to belong and feel they belong and are useful. The micro enterprise must be setup so that therapy is available on site to help them cope with situations that come up.
In addition we need to introduce hobbies to those with mental illness. We need to get them involved with activities they enjoy, photography, painting, hiking, skiing etc. Things that they can use to relax.
I don't believe telling someone about these things is as good as actually putting them to use in a daily situation.
Lastly, we need a health care team. Medical doctor to rule out other medical conditions such as thyroid; Social worker to help find resources, a peer supporter to help get us out and connect hobbies; a psychologies to talk with and gain skills to cope, a psychiatrist for meds and to oversee the whole thing. Their also needs to be group work with others to develop interpersonal skills as well. Lastly and educational component needs to be in place.
Just my 2 cents.. Thank you for the support all. I feel the love and caring here, even when the rest of the world is cold, mean and unsupportive.
