I’m feeling a lot better today.
Is there a support group for Dissociative identity disorder? I couldn’t find it when I looked. (For a “couple” of friends)
Has anyone tried EMDR? And does it work for trauma?
I’ve had a rough week and I had to call the crisis hotline but I’m ok. I worked out my problem with a counselor, they’re really kind people.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

About EMDR, exposure therapy rather than EMDR was what my PTSD specialist chose for me in my therapy with him, and it worked well. I've heard of those who did well with EMDR, and of one friend off line who did not.
I think that's why, as cassichase is saying, there's more than one treatment for us. Our traumas came in different ways, so treatment may be different, too, not a one size fits all. A.R.T. and exposure therapy are just two choices in addition to EMDR. Feel free to ask your therapist about them all.
