Mind mending PTSD dream again
mujicaptsd
I've had plenty of nightmares, and nightmares that hand something to teach me. But now I had a happy mind mending dream again like the Springsteen one I reported here I had last week. Music again. This time I dreamt about Leonard Cohen songs playing a central role in bringing peace and healing in the setting of a fine dinner party. Peaceful fun. I never go to dinner parties and I never date, but I had a great date, and as among friends from here at PTSD DS again. I felt good, like Cohen's song says, "like a bird on a wire/I have tried in my way to be free."
I woke up with the words "enjoy life's accidents" echoing in my mind. Like most trauma survivors with PTSD, accidents have never been anything for enjoy. (I just had a nasty car accident last September 2012!) but the message wasn't that ugly smart aleck comment the heartless people tell those of us who are survivors of rape like me--"you might as well just enjoy it." No, it was a healthy and healing suggestion that accidents would happen in my future that were happy accidents, something my PTSD wariness just doesn't allow much room for in my waking life.
I share this because I share my nightmares just as the rest of us do here. I hope someone else starts having these happy mind mending dreams here, too, like I am. It's the first time in my entire 18 years over being diagnoses with PTSD, and it is very, very welcome.
Blessings, all.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Thank you for posting, its always refreshing to hear something good happening
I am beginning to think we have the same CD collection, muji.

Arfie, what a great thought that we might have the same kind of musical collections. I love that song Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. I'm using it in a presentation I'm making in a couple of weeks.
Glad you like Leonard Cohen, too. In an interview he once said, without explaining details, that he "got into some trouble" in his life, so he checked in to a Buddhist monastery. He came out an ordained monk himself. I wish for that level of willingness to turn trials into wisdom.
Thank you for sharing your dream! It offers so much Hope!!
Wishing you a peaceful journey of healing!!
