I know I used to disassociate years ago, and I would just shut down. I feel that my ptsd is making me head fill up with fearful thoughts and indescribable emotions that it has rendered me speechless. It's like I'm in constant deep thought all of the time. I keep getting asked whats wrong but I can't find the words to say whats on my mind. I need to get all of this stuff out of my head, but it's like Im in shock again! I am in the middle of grieving the loss of my great uncle! I'm in the middle of so many life changes that I'm not getting a chance to process any of it. My head feels so full and clouded. I just can't seem to break myself out of it to talk to anyone. Ive been in counseling so many times that I can usually find what a counselor would tell me in these situations, but this time my head goes blank. Maybe I'm meant to go through a quiet process? I hate that this affects me so much, I hate that even though I never served in the military I was still in combat with my relatives. Guns and all. I was born into trauma. The first 16 years of my life was nothing but trauma. I want to break the cycle and have it stop with me. I'm just going through this phase of where I can't seem to say anything to all. I'm confused as to what my brain is doing. :(

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments. My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Sharing about the blockage is an excellent first step in my own handling of my own cPTSD psychoses. Often --never a guarantee-- poking a single hole in the dam will break the blockage and get the waters of thought flowing again. Ending the confusion in my brain is another step, altogether, but first things first.
Hope this post works for you as it so often does for me. Welcome aboard.
Do you like to listen to the radio? Listening to the radio helps me. If I don't, my thoughts go racing through my head without any purpose or focus. There's a counseling show I've listened to for years called New Life Live with Steve Arterburn. Listening to the callers' questions and the counselors answers and advice has really helped me process so much stuff and I've learned things about myself, why I do things, react the way I do, etc. They also recommend resources and books.
Welcome to the board.... It's a good place to come.... I'm glad that you've found us.....
Gentle hug.....xo
Good thing I go shallow, huh? I know. Could it be any deeper than that? Ha! It's not small talk, that's for sure. When I travel (like I am now--I'm in the Detroit airport waiting for a connecting flight) I NEVER tell the person on the plane in the seat next to me that I teach death and dying. I only say Spanish, and then they tell me about their vacations to Cancun and stuff.
I can keep from talking deep stuff by doing most of the listening, but if I talk for long it'll go deep on me no matter what.
Oh, well. I don't have any answers for this.
Just thanks for putting it so well.
