Hey, new to this group but not the site. This is something that's new to me as a diagnosis, but it's been affecting me for awhile.
I've been under a lot of stress lately and it's been making my flashbacks and other problems worse. These have been happening more often at school, which is what resulted in the diagnosis, as I had some "problems" during an exam.
I'm supposed to be in my last year of school, and I finish classes next week and then was supposed to do a final placement (I'm going through for teaching) before graduating this May with a degree in education.
Well, because of what happened during the exams in December, and because I had been having issues for a few months which resulted in missing/having to leave quite a few classes because of flashbacks. This makes them think I'm not ready to be teaching and in the classroom (which, I have to admit, is probably true). But because this has been an extremely stressful situation, trying to figure out everything and convince them not to kick me out of the program, things have gotten even worse.
So basically it's a vicious cycle, and I don't know what to do anymore. I absolutely hate this. I'm trying to get better. I'm doing everything I can and working so hard. But it's ruining my life. And it's all because of the terrible things my parents did to me.
Sorry, this turned into a rant about how unfair my life is. I just . . . wish it didn't have to be this way. For anyone, ever.

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Teacher I ain't, but I heard a rumor once that classroom teacher is not the only job in the education industry. Even outside the education industry, there are quite a few training needs attached to good paying jobs. Not all of those jobs include vulnerable children.
Your degree is only a building block, April. I hope you finish it for the sake of finishing what you started. Once finished, there are many different buildings you can put it in. Even adults need educating on occasion.
Don't know if I am making sense, or not. . . A rant for a rant???
I did it, but it was a tumultuous time. Sorry this is a spanner in the works for you. It was for me. I had a really bad therapist at the time, who just said all of my restlessness was because I "had an itch I needed to scratch," whatever that means. I went it alone, which is why it was so hard. Things got better 5 years later when I got a competent therapist. That made the difference.
My childhood had me living in what I now realize was mild PTSD, and it was mild only b/c my brain was *reallllly* good at not letting me remember the realities. (Survival). I suffered a serious physical trauma in 2011, and by the time that began to heal? WHam. The PTSD was unleashed full force.
It is *always* such lousy timing, no matter when it arrives, IMO.... Just like the pain and the trauma themselves.
Gentle purrs of support.
