Mess in my house

I came home from a nice Sunday afternoon to find the upstairs apartment's plumbing had leaked water on to the ceiling of my place below it such that the ceiling paneling had caved in on my kitchen.  Argh.  I've got a lackadaisical property manager for a landlord, too.  When I called him he said he wouldn't come until tomorrow, Monday morning.


I'm dealing with it ok for tonight, but I have to admit to being anxious from it.  I live alone and I have to teach tomorrow and don't want to miss school because this property management guy's late or anything.  Eek.

Landlords sure want their rent on time but don't seem to always want to do the work

My landlord is a great friend and wonderful... I feel blessed,,,, xo

So lucky, SC! I have wonderful next door neighbors who own an apartment that's vacant, but they've decided to sell it. Darn. Otherwise, I'd have great friends for my landlords, too. Oh, well, having them for neighbors is quite a blessing in and of itself.

Yup, THIS thread again. I started it Sept. 15th when my kitchen ceiling collapsed because of flooding from the apartment above mine. Yesterday, the 25th, I finally got to take the bucket away from under the leak. My landlord's property manager sent a handyman to work on the plumbing yesterday. He was in my place all day long until he found the leak was from a poorly installed bathtub above my place.

I'm grateful not to have to have a bucket catching water leaking for an 11th day from above my kitchen today. It's been a mess and a longer one than I anticipated, and the mess stress triggered my PTSD pretty good. So thanks, everybody, for all of the support through this mess.

Sorry to hear they took so long Muji. Better late than never they say and hopefully you can get back to a semblance of a normal life now.

Hope you took some pics. The leak is fixed, but how about all the repairs needed. You may have to notify the city housing department as this is a health hazard. Hugs.

Yup, documented everything, SimpsonsOK. Yet, life's getting back to that semblance of normalcy to which Loo. The gap in the ceiling where a new ceiling panel should go is there, but hey, "look, Ma, no leak!" Thanks for your support through this hiccup in my living quarters. I deal well with my PTSD with my home as my castle, so I'm glad it's close to back to being that for me. TGIF, y'all! :-)

    Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.
