My contractor drama continues at the speed of neglect, alongside the aching loneliness for family I cannot fill until this issue is brought to a responsible stopping place. Plying therapy tools. . . Thought I'd share the read from my daily meditation readers which resonated with me this morning. From "Hope for Today," gently edited to fit this forum:
"Certainly I have periods of tremendous enthusiasm for my therapy program. During those times I feel alive, eager and receptive to growth. However, I also experience periods of complacency during which I am closed-minded, self-satisfied and lacking in progress. I tell myself that to some extent this is probably normal; life is comprised of mountains, valleys and plateaus. However, when my complacency gets out of hand, it interferes with the quality of my recovery.
"I can't achieve the degree of health I want by using yesterday's program. I've found that if I am not moving forward, I don't stand still; I go backwards. I forget the psychotherapy tools which have worked for me before and start to think I can manage things on my own. That's when my will and my life become insane.
"I once heard a speaker say if we don't grow, we get so complacent that we stop plying tools. The verbs "continued," "sought", "tried" and "practice" start to sound suspiciously like work. These words indicate that I need to persist in working my program, even when I don't feel like it. However, they also offer reward for the effort --a renewal of enthusiasm for life and a regeneration of my spirit.
"Thought for the Day
"Complacency is rarely listed among the major human faults, yet it can hinder us in every form of personal growth."

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
I love my daily meditation readers.
Ahhhh, complacency.
what reminds me that I don't know as much as I think I do~
checks and balances,
Yup, checks and balances. . . Especially when life isn't working according to my best laid plans. Congratulating myself that I haven't gone contractor hunting. Yet. . .
Not a time to get complacent about my therapy maintenance. . . Check. Balance. Balance. Check. . . Sigh. . . A high-power rifle would be so-o-o-o much simpler.
Yesterday was a good medicine day. I took a drive across the Ohio River to follow the north bank up to the west bank of the Wabash River, looped across the Wabash to cross the Ohio once more to follow the south bank across the Cumberland, Tennessee and Clarks Rivers back to the base camp. It is good to have the recent reminder of what drew me to this region to begin with. It certainly wasn't the opportunity to play Lawsuit Lotto.
The necessity still sucks, but I feel fit and ready for the appointment with the lawyer this morning. We see what grows. . .
so sorry you had to turn to a law suit , hopefully your lawyer will do your case, in the way that if you win he gets paid. not sure what that's called. Never had to sue anyone thank god.
Hopefully you will be able to find a good person to take over, maybe check them out through better business bureau. I know in the USA you have a app where you can look up people for different jobs like handyman , contractor and it says if there have been referral's , or complaints. not sure what it's called.
but hoping to get the job fixed so you can get on with your renovations. Best of luck Casey
I don't plan to revisit the construction project until after the much needed family time. I've broken promises on two family visits for the sake of this project and I am currently too lonesome to think straight. Need family hugs.
