Medical/consistent illness trauma?
Hey there,
I don't really know how to classify my trauma other than health-induced PTSD. To put it simply: I'm the friend who always gets sick. I'll get a cold once a month, maybe once two months if I'm in a good patch. All tests etc. have come back relatively normal, I'm slightly vitamin D deficient but nothing really of note. I just, every three weeks without fail, come down with something. It's take such a toll on my mental health -- I'm 27 and 3 weeks out of the month I'm a healthy, outgoing, fun-loving person, and then inevitably I get kicked down by something again. I've also had two seizures (now medicated for epilepsy) and have dealt with various pelvic pain/health issues over the past few years. All in all I've realized that I genuinely have PTSD related to everything my body's been through health-wise, and any time I begin to get sick or have a flare-up I'm thrown in to both a massive panic and depression.
Does anybody relate to this? It's tough because I don't suffer from one specific chronic illness, so to speak, but rather I get sick all the time. So it's hard to know where I "belong."
Thanks guy - really appreciate this community.

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo

My PTSD is essentially from childhood abuse, a rape, and some other stuff ---- and the other stuff was an injury that shouldn't have left me partly disabled, but did. I panic so badly at doc offices now that I have to take a PRN Klonopin. Just for a normal check-up. I have epilepsy (since 19) and have had pain issues for over a decade, and just feel a mess, physically ----- they call it fibromyalgia for lack of better term for "your body can't bounce back". Add in the stress of life, my hubby has cancer, my mom's health issues... I'm a mess every day waiting for the Next Big Disaster.
And I panic. I can't work, but what will I do if.... If .... If...
You belong with those who understand. And here we are. *puma paw bump* of solidarity.
I'm on ongoing science project and have used them with great success. Detest seeing any doctor of any sort because like Leo, my mind goes off into the next big disaster unknown. It's a lot to handle. Sending support and a hug.
I understand the fear of doctors piece. I'm not there yet--some corner of my brain still views doctors as potential answers/hope, for better or worse--but I could see myself getting there.
Love to all!

There is a book called, The Body Keeps Score about PTSD and how it effects our health, but I've never read it. It's been 'highly recommended' and I'll get around to reading it someday.
Anyway, hope you get a glorious second wind and feel reenergized soon.
Sending you support in the meantime, sim1234.
