In my retirement here in Mexico, like the other 70,000 US citizens retired here, every six months I make a trip to the border to renew my tourist visa in my US passport for the next 180 days.  This time I head out in the morning, Wed. 5-10-23,  and return Fri 5-12-23.  My being in touch depends on wifi availability, and it should be fine.  If not, SunCloud is our Community Leader here on DSPTSD, too, so if I'm out of touch not to worry.  I'll be back in touch on Saturday for sure.

I got wifi at a local restaurant a couple of blocks away. Walking on my cane is turning out to be rough today, so this will be it for me to post here on DSPTSD today. I fly back home tomorrow night.Hope to post before my flight. Be well, y'all!

Yikes, y'all! It looks like my being less in touch will extend to Mon May 15. The airline changed my arrival flight from am to pm. I misunderstood that the change went for my return flight, too. Imagine my surprise when I got to the airport last night to find my plane took off that morning. Argh! So am stranded here 2 days more. Sigh. Hope y'all are well. I can only post on the open DSPTSD board, not reply to journals or private messages right now for some reason. I'll catch up with y'all on those when I get back. Be well!

This little 6 month visa renewal errand of mine has turned into a mini-exile side I missed Friday's flight back home. The wait through the weekend before getting on the next flight tomorrow Monday has been slow. I don't know anyone in Guatemala, plus I've stayed in to save money. I'll be glad to get home tomorrow to hug my s/o again and pet my dog. Plus, once back home I can reply to journals and private messages here on DSPTSD again, something mysteriously technically impossible with the tablet I brought on my trip. It'll be good to be back home. One good thing, though, from this trip for my PTSD. I ran out of melatonin and prazosin for sleep and yet slept fine. A real blessing!

Oh, it's so good to be back, y'all! What a trip. But I did get the 6 month visa renewed, and I don't have to repeat the trip again until Nov 11 2023. I can wait, believe me.

    Does anyone here have a comfort item you carry with you when you go out? For example this is my doll, Annie, and I've recently been bringing her with me when I run errrands flor have an appointment. Holding her comforts me. I've bought her clothes, crocheted for her, I recently bought a personalized blanket with her name on it.  Just wondering if anyone else has a comfort item.
