wish me luck, everyone. I have sent my 'resume' for what it's worth, to a nursing agency. I work sometimes as an assistant in nursing. The thing with an agency is, that I can say I only want to work on such and such days, and I only want to do evening or night shift. I was with an agency once before.
I have a lot of trouble with fatigue, and with needing to sleep all morning, which makes a lot of jobs difficult.
And, with this nursing agency, it's mostly hospital work. which is easier than nursing home work.
I'm all excited, but if I can't last at a job, I always get very ashamed of myself. It's a risk, because I seem to put too much importance on employment.
I'm not very good at handling stress, that's one big thing from my PTSD.
Went through too much severe stress.
Anyway, I'm looking eagerly every day for an email from this agency.

Hello- I am new to the group

My therapist really knocked some sense into me last Friday about my spending. She said that there are needs and there are wants. She said that there is always going to be cheap stuff to buy, but do I need it? The answer is mostly "no". So today, I am taking back some things that I bought online at Kohl's, namely a 9 x 12 rug and a quilt for my bed. I also bought sheets that I don't need...
Make sure you keep hydrated at work, mild dehydration will add to the fatigue and often happens to those of us who get anxious, stressed, ashamed, while we are trying to work.
You can do this!
Please know you are not alone!
When they call you to work, don't ask yourself, "Can I do it? What if I can't?" Suit up and show up. The worst thing that could happen is that you cannot make it through the day, but promise yourself to give it the best effort you can. "Five more minutes. A half hour more. I've made it through half the day. Yeah! I am almost done the day. I made it!" Give yourself pats on the back for any accomplishment.
Fear may be your worst enemy. If you are constantly doubting yourself, it will be self-sabotage.
When my PTSD was bad, I decided to join a singles' club. They all went to a bar to dance on Friday nights. At first, I made myself sick with fear. "What if I got there and felt afraid?" I had to realize I was doing it to myself out of fear.
Practice your breathing and relaxation and being in the here and now. You go, girl!
What if I die
What if I go crazy
What if I get sloppy
What if I get lazy
What if I faint
What if I pass out
What if I am trapped
What if I can't get out
What if I scream
What if I shout
What if I have nothing to what if about
I might find peace
I might find happiness
I might find joy
I might find success
I might find it's such a relief
I might find al I have to do is believe
That if I stay in the here and now
I can cope somehow
I might find peace inside me
Cause life's not really a catastrophe
