Just asking for tips. I feel like I am making progress. But, I struggle deeply with the hurt of being abused and exposed to recurring violence in my home. I was a misfit and alone in school despite being at the top of my class and a star athlete. There's a huge void of feeling worthless and a burden (because I am type I diabetic). Any thoughts on how to find peace or at least be on the path? Everytime I think of it I cry or battle tears at work/ home. I feel a tremendous amount of pain. EMDR tomorrow...

YAY!!! EMDR tomorrow!! Hope it strengthens your feeling of progress.
Seems like we're both still looking for our tribe - people who won't treat you like an afterthought or a burden. I hope you find yours soon because you're worthy of feeling loved and happy, even if it's not by the people in your bloodline.
knowing i am strong and that i can control who i am and where i am now is the thing i remind myself each day and i try to do what i can to live with some fun through the hurt and the pain i have a direction that i want to go and i focus on that as much as i can.
Keep your chin up and breathe deeply find something you enjoy and follow that small steps and time you will find it easier from day to day and will want to have that bit of fun more often
