This song is stuck in my head, circling around my anxieties over the end of my youngest son's supervised visit with his children. Tomorrow we return the children to the other grandparents with whom we share protective custody of the children from both parents. I included the chords, just in case there are others in the community who do their music therapy with live instruments.
Precious Friend
(Words and Music by Pete Seeger)
Just when I thought
All was lost, you changed my mind.
You gave me hope (not just the old soft soap)
You showed that we could learn to share in time
(you and me and Rockefeller)
I'll keep pluggin' on,
Your face will shine through all our tears.
And when we sing another little victory song,
Precious Friend, you will be there.
Singing in harmony,
Precious Friend, you will be there.

But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...

Don't underestimate the voice as an extremely complex instrument. Ask any opera director. Voice is the most complex instrument in the orchestra.
On the therapy end, breathing exercises are widely praised as effective therapy tools. Have you ever tried to sing without breathing?
It's not about being perfect. It's about working it out.
