Job eval time and snow cabin fever
mujicaptsd
I do fine with my teaching evaluations at the college when my boss reviews them once a year. Translating our point system to the grading system we all had back in school, I usually run a good B average on the forms my students fill out after every semester.
Friday is my yearly appointment with my boss for me to take those evaluation forms my students filled out about my teaching for the Fall 2013 semester and the Spring 2013 semester. They're the usual B average.
The thing is, we instructors at my college are required to write a response to them, and with PTSD it's always tough to be diplomatic. The average is a B, but once in a while there's a crank in the mix who takes a nasty shot just because s/he can and they're anonymous. It's my job to respond without returning fire like any mortal would really like to do.
I'm ok at doing managing a professional tone, but this time I've had two snow days and I've got cabin fever. I always have to take it easy responding to my evals and be diplomatic with my PTSD fight or flight response. But this time it's been heightened by being cooped up with these snow storms.
Wish me luck Friday. Anybody else finding the weather's making them anxious one way or another?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Good luck on your eval. B average ain't too shabby.
It's having to write written responses in a diplomatic tone to the few nasty critics that isn't so good to do with cabin fever.
I know, Texas sure could handle this moisture. And California, with its drought!
Seriously, it wasn't too bad. I have my eval appointment with my boss at the college tomorrow.
Posting that I was anxious about it here was step one toward success, as it is in so many things for me when PTSD fight or flight grips me about something and I get defensive.
I seriously am so grateful for you at DS PTSD in practical ways in my life.
Wishing you a good day with the very best of luck for Friday!!
