Hello,
I have lived with PTSD for as long as I can remenber. Certain noises trigger me, smells, attitudes or actions of others. It has been a difficult journey getting to where I can develop relationships that are healthy, and where people understand. There are still times where I get triggered and have to remind myself that I am safe today, and I have others that I can turn to. It seems to be a life-long work for me, but I am thankful today for those in my life that contribute to my wellness and continued progress in self-improvement. There is a lot of pain in my past that I am yet mourning. But today there is not a day that goes by I don't try.
Looking forward to hearing from folks, there are so many of us wanting to heal.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I am sorry that you've had to live a long time with the effects and the pain of PTSD...
It's wonderful that you have a good support system and that you have the courage to face the challenges that life has presented you with everyday
This is a good place to come filled with some really great people.... I'm glad that you've found us...... Big hug......xo
My recovery from child sex trafficking has been an adventure spanning nearly half a century. so far. I've never called it a way of life, but I've long accepted it as a lifetime effort. I don't expect to ever fully recover, but feel greatly compensated by the many, many wonderful, courageous people I never would have met without my healing needs. Some of those folks are right here in this forum.
Welcome to our healing community.
I will very much hang in there and thank you so much for your warm heartfelt response.

Yes, many of us are wanting to heal. I grew more patient and accepting of myself and the daily struggles of cPTSD over time, though at times I still get frustrated. I hear you about the mourning, I have a lot of grief too.
I find this to be a welcoming place where support is given and accepted - and both are precious. Welcome to the group!
Thank you for sharing, I had to learn patience throughout the years. I had a bit of an easier time becoming self-accepting. I believe for me frustration is a part of life that is very alive and active, but most days are better. Being able to go to a sweat lodge helps me when I am permitted to go. This appears to be a very welcoming place and I am grateful. Thank you for your warm welcome.

I agree that knowledge is power, I can thoroughly relate to that study dealing with sensitivity. I had been hypersensitive most of my life. It wasn't till I connected with some amazing Native Elders and working on some self-healing through the sweat lodge that I began to change and learned a bit more about patience, understanding, compassion, and just being good to myself. As you said, taking a break when needed. I am at home in nature and go there often to take a break and just breathe. Now my children go with me and share the experience. Thank you so much for sharing with me.
