I am having a Hard time. I am suffering from PTSD. I am trying to get Better but I need Help. Most all of My memory's are Blocked & I don't know why ?? I know alot of People probably are saying I am glad My Memory' s are Blocked. It is really getting very frusating for me. I want to have regardless my Bad & Good Memory's so i can start a pathway to a Full Recovery. Thanks for any Help You can Give.

I can't speak for sure but I have DID - part of which includes memory loss. It gets kind of confusing because I don't know really where the PTSD stops and the DID begins but if you're interested, there's a MPD board where you might read some stuff to see if it fits your experiences. Ask your therapist, as well.

You can start your recovery without the full memories.Its common for people to block it.Or only have emotional flashbacks with no visual ones..............There are different variables of how our brain copes.But is not necessary to have all the full blown memory of everything exactly as it happened to start the process of recovery.

If you can, get yourself into a structured PTSD therapy group. It really does work. You begin with your immediate PTSD stuck points such as lack of trust, Hyper-Vigilence etc....... and continue to disect those things forcing yourself to recount the feelings you had at the time of your trauma (s) and what effect each trauma and feeling had on you. Bit by bit and piece by piece, whatever you can tolerate....... the doors open not only to memories buy also to understanding who you are once again as well as that you are not to blame for what you had no control over. Just a thought......... if you are ex-military or are married to or a widow of an ex-military, you most likely are eligible for benefits from the V.A. which has an excellent PTSD treatment program. They really do understand it. In any event you can access the self help material on their website, either at VA.org or MyhealtheVet.Va.org There really isn't much out there in the private sector, other than doctors or groups looking to make a buck off you pain. Maybe you can help create a help group for PTSD through your church??.... The options are there, but it does take some digging. Good Luck!!
