I think i must have some form of PTSD after losing my husband to cancer. He had a 10 year battle, 14 surgeries, numerous chemos and radiation. He suffered more that I thought a human could endure without complaining and always trying to have a smile for me. I was the sole caregiver to the very horrifying end. I am all alone, no family and no friends since I have let all of them go by the wayside while I was invoved in caregiving. The images play on an endless loop in my brain of what he/we went through. I just don't know what I am doing living when there doesn't seem to be anything to live for or look forward to. Feels like I am just eating, sleeping, etc. etc.every day is the same and they all flow into each other endlessly. I wish I knew how to get out of this pit of depression and anxiety. If anyone else has had an experience like this it would be helpful to hear from you.

It's been some time since my last post...sorry. I've been going through a challenging time with the sale of my home, purchase of a condo and my adult asperger son that lives with me. If I come to DS and it won't do anything when I click "Login", I go to a post, click and then click "Leave a Reply". Then it will let me log in.Of course, sometimes DS just goes to "Error 504". Then I can't log in.

The nearest I've been to what you are going through is providing support for the caregiver. Yowza!!! That looks like a tough job!!!! The aftermath of doing that tough job looks even tougher. Do we grieve the end of life or celebrate the end of suffering? I still don't know, but I believe with all my heart and soul that recovery support is needed, by whatever name. I'm glad you are reaching out for that support.
On the live support group note, you don't need to "keep it together for that." Support groups are a safe place to fall apart. There is great healing magic for all in being there to sort and pick up the pieces worth keeping.
Welcome aboard, Inarut. Hope you find healing companionship here.
