In bad pain from overprescribed PTSD meds
I've explained how the overprescribed PTSD meds happened here before. If you don't recall, here's the recent DSPTSD explanation's link.
I got permanent kidney damage from the overprescribed PTSD meds, so for 11 years my blood that gets to my extremeties isn't oxygen rich enough. Nerves die of oxygen starvation, and the pain is called neuropathy. They burn electric pain back at you as they die. Imagine when a nerve un a tooth hurts, put that in your toe, and you get it. Right now my left big toe's nerves are on fire.
You would think once the nerves die and aren't on fire any more that would be relief. You would think wrong. Pain is a warning, and when feet are numb and bad things happen and you don't feel it and the warning from it, it gets worse. I write here about how I walk proudly on a cane every day, but today I couldn't.
In my sleep last night i roilled my body over to sleep on my right side. But I didn't roll my numb feet with my body, and so I didn't feel how I twisted both ankles all night long. When I woke up, I had two swollen sprained ankles i couldn't even stand up on, much lesss walk on.
It's gone on like that all day. I ended up off the cane I used to proudly walking to go back to being in a wheelchair. I could only afford to retire to Mexico, which I love, except that now that I'm wheelchair bound I see how Mexico is not handiapped accessible in most places.
I wet myself twice today because I couldn't walk to the bathroom fast enough on two very sprained ankles even with a wheelchair. That was humiliating. Now I have that left toe nerve screaming pain as it dies, and I'm lying in bed hungry but unable to get to dinner on my lwn in my wheelchair.
Life kind of sucks right now for me. Support welcome.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

And getting around? Yeah... I just hover near the bathroom and pray.
We're here.. We're giving you hugs. And puma power from me.
I hate that you are going through this.
I wish i had the perfect words to comfort you right now.
Please know you remain in my prayers.
I hope life treats you more kindly soon.
I truly hope you feel better soon.
Sending you strength.
will it help to tell you about my "porch patrol chair?" it is an old wheelchair which i use to keep up with my foster kids as they chase one another around our wrap around porch. i can walk just fine, but 3 kids, ages 8, 6 and 3, can be quite a challenge for my 67 year old stamina. rolling after them takes allot less energy than chasing them on foot. i'm thinking of having my porch patrol chair outfitted with flashing lights and a siren.
just a supportive hope of adding some humble dignity to the equation.
just hoping. . .
I ordered room service but couldn't eat last night, but blessedly enough I could sleep even with the neuropathy pain. That stupid left foot of mine is still causing me so much pain that it's literally trembling all by itself from the nerve electricity jolting through it as it dies. Wish it would just get dying over with, but as we all know here at DSPTSD that's chr0nic pain for you. It has its own agenda and you're just along for the ride.
I'm still at the hotel (instead of a hospital) in my wheelchair for 2 more nights to see if I can get up on my feet that fast. In case I didn't tell you, this hotel is where I first came to Mexico 5 years ago. I've stayed friends with the staff buying them all coffee at their 4pm coffee break even now that I moved here to live persmanently. So they take good care of me.
Example: yesterday when this emergency happened the hotel owner himself carried my body from the taxi. Then he got his front desk staff to find me a wheelchair immediately to have it delivered. Then-GET THIS-he paid for my wheelchair personally out of his own pocket upon delivery. I paid him back, of course, but I'll be telling that sweet story for the rest of my life. WOW!
I'm in a lot of pain, then, but I have you caring for me here at DSPTSD and I have the entire hotel staff caring for me here in Mexico offline. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Did I mention that I'm grateful? I am. Deeply. Gracias.
You for sure have my empathy. I’m so glad that they’re good to you over there, it made me feel happy to hear that.
Wow you nailed it when you said “ we all know here at DSPTSD that’s chronic pain for you, it has its own agenda & you are just along for the ride” .... yes do I relate to that. I hope I’m not rambling too much, I’m a little foggy today.
I’ll be thinking of you. I’m going to lite a candle for you
Sending support, strength & many prayers
Gentle hug <3
But I'm disappointed in how the swelling in both sprained ankles just isn't going down yet. So I think my Tuesday goal may not be reasonable. When I go to breakfast I'm going to see if I can reserve a couple more nights and maybe shoot for Thursday.
Speaking of unsexy, Sandra my salsa dancing friend came by my hotel room and brought more analegesic cream and rubbed it on both feet for me. She's gone from being my salsa dance partner to helping care for my geezer gams. Wow. Sweet kid. Don't know what she sees in me, swear to God, but she's awfully nice to me. Because of what she did I had no pain all night and slept for a change. But the swelling didn't go down. So today she's going to buy me some salts and tomorrow she's coming by to help me soak my feet in warm salt water in a bucket. It helps with how crappy this all is for the mood, believe me.
I don't know if it's PTSD related or not,,,,,,,But, I've been experiencing alot of foot pain lately, Just comes out of nowhere, And just goes away as fast as it comes on, with help from Ibuprofen.
The Latest was my knee
I'm sure you'll be moving around in no time.
It just takes time
And it really Hurt's
I'm sorry your going through that
>>Friday-total agony, curse those kidneys for not even allowing so much as an aspirin for the pain
>>Saturday-total agony until midnight, then a lidocaine massage took effect and I could sleep
>>Sunday-could stand up for first time, though not walk, but stood up enough to take a shower
>>Monday-could stand more, making transfer from bed to wheelchair easy; A lidocaine massage again along with a salt soak, then medicinal herbs soak helped lots
>>Tuesday-could stand, could take first few steps.
I wanna be outta here Thursday. We'll see. I have to be walking by then. There's nothing but a grassy lawn between my convent gate and my apartment door and it's on a slope so my wheelchair won't work there.
