My cat is going on trial for crimes against skink-anity. SIX in six weeks. Three this last week alone. The crack is maybe 1/4 inche wide. Maybe. Skink skitters past, her paw shoots out, her claw hooks in, she yanks, and somehow, having defied physics... WHAM. Skink-o-rama.Now, don't get me wrong, it's nice that she's a pesticidal maniac, but OMG. Skinks do no harm. They don't come inside. WTF.So,...

It sounds like an overwhelming experience and no wonder you feel insane. Who could cope with such memories? You are going to need help with this. You are going to need therapy or counseling.
As for deserving the abuse, no, you didn't deserve it and you don't deserve it. Abused kids always think they deserve it because otherwise why would it happen? But the truth is, abusers abuse because they need to - it's how they deal with their own unbearable feelings. So deep down it has nothing to do with you.
I can't even go back to the state in which I was *raised*. It's normal. Who could face such a thing? Without tears, without panic, without fear?
If you haven't found counseling... Please, do so, if you can. I used to find school activities that kept me out of the house if Dad was in it... Avoidance was all I had.
I did find something to do to get me out of the house (fishing) what the others suggest is right... you need to get away even for just a little...
after I moved out I was a mess (still am) but I slowly got better... first I ended up with ulcers at a very young age and the emotional and the effects it has on you follows you.... my mistake was trying to deal with it myself thinking time heals all wounds... maybe so but Im 48 and it still interferes with my life... I only reacently seaked out to get counceling... take it from me... get councelling now while your still young... good luck and I feel for you... my heart breaks hearing others going through what I did... stay strong
